I lived in a world
rigid, black and white.
Where this was always wrong
and that was always right.
But then you introduced the gray,
blotches of shades splattered around the page.
Each mark varied in darkness and light.
I lost my lines both black and white,
each a boundary clearly directing me.
Now I wander a somber territory.
Thank you for all the grays,
erasing the lines shackling me each day.
Although, perhaps in this next phase
I‘ll find hues more vast than a rainbow's display.
